Foodie Secret Santa

It’s that time of the year again when Claire from Claire K Creations organises a Foodie Secret Santa for all those wanting to be involved.

Cherry Chutney

I was happy to once again be participating.  As I did last year, I made cranberry sauce and cherry chutney as the gifts for my recipients.  The bloggers my gifts went to were all women I have previously not met in cyberland so it was lovely to make some new connections.  They are…

Sharon from Wee Love Baking;

Roxanne from The Baking Dentist; and

Bryton from Food in Literature.

Posting glass jars does make me nervous, especially when one of the packages did have to go to the other side of Oz, so I was very relieved to hear my jars of condiments arrived without catastrophe.

A great Christmas gift

Just three ingredients

In return I received the following gifts…

Claire from Claire K Creations posted me a jar of macadamia dukkah.  I do love dukkah on Turkish bread dipped in olive oil and it makes either a great snack or an appetiser to enjoy with a glass of wine.

Cassandra from Cassie Cakes posted me a tissue-lined box filled with individually wrapped pieces of eggnog fudge.  I loved the individual wrapping and how the eggnog flavour is so Christmasy.  The fudge smells divine and it’s very soft and melt-in-the-mouth.  This has been a very popular after-dinner snack.

Sharon from Wee Love Baking posted me a handy container beautifully packaged with a variety of treats covered in green tissue.  Lifting the tissue I found this gorgeous fox cookie that had been iced so precisely and perfectly I was immediately impressed with Sharon’s talent.

Removing the next layer of tissue I found some festively decorated double chocolate chip cookies.  And who doesn’t love a double chocolate chip cookie!

And at the bottom of the container was a jar of earl grey infused salted caramel sauce.  I haven’t tried the sauce yet but the name alone has me in love with it.

Thanks Claire for organising this year’s Foodie Secret Santa; it’s been a great opportunity to be introduced to some new and generous and very talented bloggers, and I’ve received some very thoughtful and delightful gifts that above all, traveled well!

  19. I got your name too but I was late. Life is just a bit overwhelming for me right now. You should have it this week.

I received two gifts but I can’t post this year. I got the same container from Sharon but the container was broken, the jar was broken with glass shards in everything.

Then I received some toffee but it had melted in the heat.

Pay back for being late, I’m sure!

I made my gifts three times and had three shipping fails. I sent a letter in the package. 🙂 and no it’s not really funny but I did laugh.

  20. Yum…. I forgot to tell Claire I wanted to join this year 🙂 AH well, next year then 🙂
