Not Quite Nigella’s Dairy Free & Gluten Free Buckwheat & Coconut Pancakes

Who doesn’t love pancakes for breakfast?  Particularly appropriate on weekends or during the holidays.  I just made these Gluten and Dairy Free Buckwheat and Coconut Pancakes that I found on the Not Quite Nigella website.  I thought it would be great to try a pancake recipe that is not only gluten free but also dairy free.  Only those with an allergy to eggs won’t be able to eat these!

Lorraine from Not Quite Nigella serves these pancakes with a strawberry jam she makes called Three Day Strawberry Jam because exactly that, it that takes three days to make.  Because we’re not that patient and we wanted our pancakes NOW and because I was given an enormous bottle of maple syrup in my Christmas stocking, we served them with the Canadian import.

How often do you cook recipes from other blogs?

  1. I’m so flattered that you tried these Charlie! 🙂 Hehe yes the strawberry jam does take a while to make and a huge bottle of maple syrup would do quite nicely indeed!

  2. I very seldom try recipes from blogs because I can never rememebr where I saw them when I decide that I want to try them out !!! I do remember your chicken balls but haven’t had a chance to try them out yet !

Having said that, they always make me think “Wow those sound nice” and then “When I have lost some weight I would like to give those a try” !!!!

    Have a great day !

  3. I cook almost everything “Not Quite” tells me too!

Her blog is one of my very favorites!

  4. love them, i should try this recipe too, always need gluten and dairy free recipes up my sleeve!

  5. yum, must try this jam, Lorraine is a genius!

  6. I love anything Nigella but the 3-day strawberry jam sounds intriguing!

  7. I have a list of recipes from your blog and also from Lorraine that I want to try. Time seems to be the issue at the moment….

  8. Lovely!!!!

I love Lorraine and her site…. Your pancakes looks so good. I think I”ll too go for Maple syrup unless Lorraine sends me the jam…. LOL

    Thanks for sharing.

  9. I’d like to try these next time I have my GF girlfriend for brunch! They look good enough to serve gluten people too! Canadian maple syrup is the best!

  10. I love trying out recipes from other blogs, as it always gives me a sense that a REAL person uses this recipe all the time and it works! Love the recipes on both you and Lorraine’s sites!

  11. Always had a fascination with buckwheat pancakes since I read that the artist, Whistler, used to make them for breakfast. Unfortunately breakfast is not my best time in the kitchen. Do make things from blogs though. In the evening.

  12. These look wonderful, but then, Lorraine’s recipes always do. I am a huge, huge fan of her and her Not Quite Nigella Blog. My son lived in France and loves all things Breton especially, often asks for buckwheat dishes when he is home. I haven’t been able to find buckwheat flour here in San Miguel yet, but hopefully soon. I’ll definitely make these when I do.

  13. This was a particularly yummy recipe, and absolutely perfect for me with my InTolerances!

  14. I’ll be sending this delicious-looking recipe to my cousin who is learning how to live a gluten-free lifestyle. She’s going to love it. Thanks!

  15. beautiful recipe 🙂 I heart Lorraine’s blog so much. Man I love pancakes haha.

  17. These sound superb! I love the addition of coconut too 🙂

  18. I love these pancakes & also made them a few times! Lorraine’s recipes rock too, so does yours!
I learn a lot & cook a lot from other blogs that inspire me like yours, Charlie! 🙂
