Rudolph’s Christmas, Mosman

There’s no need to panic.  There are still 32 days until Christmas (less if you didn’t read this on the day I published it!)  We all have plenty of time to get organised and I know round about now a lot of us are starting to think about how we’re going to decorate or prepare our home for the festive season.

We're on the countdown!

We’re on the countdown!

I thought it might be helpful to give you another tour of Rudolph’s Christmas, the shop that opened a year ago in Mosman that sells everything you’ll every need to help you celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

It's not a pretty building but it's very pretty inside!

Rudolph’s Christmas has two locations in Sydney.  The main store is in Penrith and they have a satellite shop in Mosman.   A few weeks after last Christmas the shop in Mosman closed for many months and I have to say that after all the razzle dazzle and bright lights, it was quite a sad scene.

Just at the entrance. One big giant star. Would like this on my roof.

The two men who run the store are back and with their backgrounds in set design, costume design and floral art, they have turned their store into something that’s definitely a work of art.

It was wonderful when I drove past a few weeks ago and noticed the store had re-opened.  Since then I have been visiting regularly and watched the men busy themselves setting it all up again and last year’s store has been totally transformed.

Cute!

Cute!

Oh, and if you like dogs you’re in luck because the owners bring to work with them, Shayna who appropriately wears jingle bells around her neck and in front of you she will roll over onto her back so you can scratch her tummy.  With her over-bite she is pretty cute.

So, all under the one roof you will find Christmas trees, life-sized Nativity scenes, serving platters, ornaments, lights, snow-globes, musical toys, tablecloths, napery, stockings, Santa sacks, things that flash, things that sing, things with batteries and things you plug into a socket – Rudolph’s Christmas has something or many things to make your Christmas special.

And an added bonus, there’s free parking under the building.  The store is open 7-days from now until Christmas and is well worth a visit.

  1. Charlie, what a beautiful shop! Between this and my Christmas CD, I’m feeling very festive! 🙂

  2. Visiting the shop is definitely inspirational, even if it’s only in pictures.

  3. I really like your chalk board countdown, I have been looking for one with no luck so far 🙁

  4. The contrast between the outside and inside of this building is quite staggering! You’ve done a lovely round up of what they have on offer.

  5. I’m glad they close the shop after Christmas, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas stores after the fact! I just bought all my evergreen boughs to create my front urns, I always do the myself because it’s much more economical (ready made urns are usually $30 for small and $50 for large ones and I have two of each! All my boughs were less than $40 and I have pine cones, ribbon and bobbles from past years!).
You’ve inspired me to take out my Christmas décor again, last year I went minimal and had only one Christmas tree in the living room (lounge). I may just put up all three this year!

  6. That looks like fun! I’d like to go to the sale on the day after Christmas.

  7. We definitely need to step up our holiday decorating game. Right now we are kind of sort of failing. 😛

  8. What a fun and creative Christmas shopping venue. This would certainly put one in the mood for Christmas.

  9. I wouldnt mind visiting this shop it certainly gives me a burst of christmas spirit 😀

    Cheers

  10. What a gorgeous store to browse in, would have to leave my credit card at home before I set foot inside.

  11. I so want to go Charlie! We go to the Bredbo Christmas Barn and it looks like this- truly a wonderful, magical place! Xox

  12. Wow, this is really colourful and bright.I remember your post from last year too, and what fun it was. I like the blue tree.

  13. Wow. Just wow. We don’t have anything like that up here and I could happily spend my free hour just wandering around from tree to tree. I don’t blame you for visiting often!

  14. G’day! it does seem it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Charlie, true!
Thanks for bringing and sharing and Christmas spirit…while I believe…feeling very ho hum about it this year too!
    Cheers! Joanne

  15. Oh my I would come out of this shop very poor!

  16. Love Christmas shops, they are so lovely, hmmm wonder if our puppy will wear bells, might try it for Christmas Day 🙂

  17. Your post is enough to get everybody in the Christmas spirit. Fabulous shop!

  18. That’s one of those spaces that I always used to worry about when I lived there. I mean worry as in worry about shops that would open there and whether they’d survive. I’m hoping that Rudolph’s sticks around!

  19. thanks for sharing so many beautiful christmas deco.

  20. What a glorious selection of Christmas decorations, but I like Shayna best…overbite and all.

  21. Christmas shops are always so much fun! We don’t decorate all that much any more, but when we did we’d spend hours in a place like that. Fun post – thanks.

  22. Will and I went to a Christmas shop here last weekend and were sadly disappointed. It was lovely and very festive but everything was so expensive! I have gone a little bit crazy buying Christmas lights already seeing as we have a house to decorate this year.

  23. That looks like my kind of store. I have noticed it unattended for some time. They must use it as storage in the off season. Nice to see it is up and running for Christmas.

  24. What a gorgeous shop! I can’t wait to have my first Christmas tree ever next year, since we’ll have our house (and I’m Jewish so I never got to have one growing up!):)

  25. “Mary looking a lot better just after childbirth than I did”

Puahahahaha!!! Oh my God Charlie – it’s 1.30AM, my son is curled up on the bed asleep next to me and you made me burst out laughing, almost waking him up! 😀

  26. I enjoy going into these places during the holidays, Charlie. I never buy anything but I love to look around and everything. It’s still a bit too early for me to go into one but I’ll do it. It wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
